This draft describes privacy practices for TouchLineUp Release 1. It supplements the CloudRiver corporate Privacy Policy and is specific to this product; it is not a statement that another CloudRiver product uses the same data practices.

Current Release-1 architecture

TouchLineUp is designed as a coach-first, local-first experience. Active application information and closed match records and summaries are stored on the coach's device. The browser version uses browser storage; the native iOS app uses storage on the device. Information may be lost if the device is lost or reset, or if app or browser data is removed.

CloudRiver does not currently maintain a complete server-side backup of all rosters, match histories, or historical match data for every user. Local storage is not guaranteed to be permanent, durable, or immune from security or platform-level limitations.

Available features may vary by app version and device. Before relying on a backup, confirm that the file has been saved in a location you control.

What information may be present

TouchLineUp may store coach-managed information such as team names, player display names, player identifiers, jersey numbers, lineups, substitutions, match metadata, participation estimates, and match closure information. Archived match information may also include opponent or location details entered by the coach.

TouchLineUp does not ordinarily require home addresses, exact birth dates, government identification numbers, medical histories, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. However, names, team information, and other user-entered details may still constitute personal or sensitive information depending on the context and the data entered.

Support reporting

To request support, a coach can enter issue details and review diagnostics prepared on the device before choosing to copy the report, open an email draft addressed to support@thecloudriver.com, or use available device or browser sharing options. Opening the support feature does not send a report automatically. A coach may select and review a screenshot, but the app does not capture one automatically. The email draft does not attach a screenshot automatically; the coach must attach or share it separately. TouchLineUp cannot confirm that an email or shared item reaches CloudRiver.

Diagnostic preparation occurs locally. The schema is designed to minimize personal information and typically excludes player names, team names, coach names, school names, opponent names, precise location, raw rosters, raw exports, authentication tokens, and stable tracking identifiers.

If a coach voluntarily shares a screenshot, that screenshot may include team or personal information. CloudRiver encourages coaches to review the image before sharing it. A user-selected share destination may be operated by a third party. Emailing or sharing a report or screenshot transfers information outside the app and may be processed by email, operating system, or other provider systems. CloudRiver has not verified what happens to information after it is handed to a selected destination or established a universal post-delivery retention period.

Coach-initiated backup and export

A coach can initiate a JSON backup of supported local application information. It includes a snapshot of supported active application state and archived match records and summaries. The information may include team and player details, match activity, and opponent or location information entered by the coach. The backup has a format and version identifier and a SHA-256 integrity digest intended to help detect accidental changes. The digest is not encryption, does not keep the file confidential, and does not prove who created it. TouchLineUp does not encrypt the exported file.

In the current iOS app, TouchLineUp writes the backup to its on-device Documents storage, intended to be available in Files > On My iPhone > TouchLineUp > TouchLineUp Backups. The app may then offer the iOS share sheet; sharing is optional and initiated by the coach. If sharing is cancelled or unavailable, the created local file remains available in Files. TouchLineUp cannot confirm whether a selected destination receives or keeps a shared copy. Creating a backup does not by itself send a copy to CloudRiver. The browser version starts a file download; check the browser's downloads to confirm it was saved.

TouchLineUp does not currently provide a built-in way to restore or import a backup. An export is not a complete recovery service and cannot prevent loss of the device, local data, or exported file. Anyone who obtains an export may be able to read its contents.

What CloudRiver can and cannot access

The following distinctions are important:

  • Data stored locally on the coach’s device: This information stays on the device unless the coach chooses to export or share it. CloudRiver cannot remotely retrieve, inspect, or delete information that remains only on the device.
  • Information voluntarily transmitted to CloudRiver: If a coach sends a support email, support report, screenshot, or other direct communication, CloudRiver may receive the information provided in that communication and use it only for the identified support or privacy purpose.
  • Information processed by service providers: Information a coach chooses to send may be processed by email or support services used to deliver that communication. The applicable providers, terms, retention, and safeguards require verification before this draft is approved. This is separate from app data that remains only on the device.

CloudRiver cannot access, retrieve, or delete local-only device data simply because it is stored in the application. Deletion of local device data depends on the coach’s device, browser, or app storage controls and any applicable backup or export practices.

CloudRiver does not intend to sell customer information or authorize third parties to use it for unrelated independent commercial purposes. A coach may choose to share information for support; that choice does not authorize unrelated commercial use. Email and support providers may process information to deliver the coach's chosen communication, subject to the provider arrangements and safeguards that must be confirmed before this draft is approved.

Future capabilities

The current Release-1 app does not automatically synchronize match history to CloudRiver, automatically send support reports, or automatically send reports to an AI service. A coach-initiated export or support sharing may leave the device as described above. Any future feature that changes what information leaves the device will require review and clear notice before it is offered.

AI-assisted support

CloudRiver may consider AI tools for customer support in the future. Before customer information is processed through an AI service, CloudRiver must confirm the provider, privacy protections, access, retention, and required notice.

The current Release-1 support workflow does not automatically send support information to an AI service.
